          For N-bit ADC the signal-to-noise ratio is calculated as follows [1]:


SNR  =  6.02 N  +  1.76 dB


          The conclusion is simple: in order to improve the SNR in a conventional ADC, its resolution, that is, number of bits, must be increased.
